“BBC 6Music points out that Gary Lightbody, the golden-voiced frontman for Scottish MOR mainstays Snow Patrol, has formed a new group whose membership includes R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck, Belle and Sebastian drummer Richard Colburn, and Young Fresh Fellows/Minus Five/R.E.M. member Scott McCaughey. The group, christened Tired Pony, will release debut album The Place We Ran From July 12 onFiction. Guests include She & Him’s Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward and Editors’ Tom Smith.”
